Dr.Peng emphasised that this initiative would make our society better.
Mr. Shankar Narayanan mentioned that they were getting a lot of students from various parts of the country and also from Germany. So he suggested that we should have separate academy for this considering the importance of the volunteerism from various corporates, along with Global Academy. He had a discussion with some of his German friends and they wanted many trained people from India to be appointed in Industries through Migrant labour immigration program. Requirements were in several sectors like social work, management sector, Information technology and communication etc.
Manula , the responsible person from Germany told that, we had to connect with Ashoka International, who were developing a lot of entrepreneurs across the world. He suggested that we could consider their guidelines as model and design our proposal. We could discuss with some of the agencies across the world like German people, since they're very close to us. Further he told that Mr.Britto could also guide us, since he visited many countries, and he was in the academic side in many countries. He requested Mr. Bala to share his views to design the programme module and he requested Mr. Alex, the CSR director from the Royal Enfield to join this program, because he also want trained people to be appointed in his industry.
Mr. Bala strongly emphasised the significance of integrating skill development programs into our module, as it played a pivotal role in shaping competent candidates for diverse sectors. In today's highly competitive market, where numerous players were competing for the skilling business, it's crucial to differentiate ourselves. To achieve this, we must address key questions:
- What sets our approach apart?
- How will our model ensure commercial viability?
- What sustainable framework will we implement within the academy?
- How will we adapt our commercial model ?
- Who is our target audience?
- What strategies will we employ to make our programs aspirational and attractive to potential candidates?
By answering these questions, we could develop a unique value proposition that sets us apart in the skilling landscape and drives long-term success.
Mr. Alex mentioned that he could contribute to this initiative, as he had experience in running a similar centre. One potential area of collaboration could be developing a curriculum and certification. The migrant labour program was a great opportunity for us to get involved and make a difference.
Ms. Asuntha expressed her concerns about the need for self-reliant people than aid dependents. As social workers, we firmly believed in empowering individuals to utilize their own strengths and resources, thereby reclaiming their dignity. She also emphasised the need to Identify unique component that will differentiate the SKILLING academy and its unique selling point lies in its creativity and innovation which provides students with a distinctive learning experience.
Mr. S. Santiago noted that the perspective is important while designing the pathway for the academy and congratulated Dr. Shoby for bringing the project proposal successfully comprising all the points discussed in their meetings.
It had been decided that further suggestions and ideas would be shared through a Google Doc by April 12th, 2025.The next meeting was scheduled on April 26th 2025.
